Editors Commentary:
The most common problems requiring home care, instititional care or hospice care are (in order): heart disese, cancer, stroke, chronic respiratory disease, injuries, diabetes, influenza/pneumonia, Alzheimer's disase, and kidney disease. They are not the only ones, just the more common reasons for needing a care giver.
While all of these conditions can be taxing to the care giver, possibly Alzheimer's disease is one of the most taxing. For more information about Alzheimer's disease, click here.
